Trip to Shigaraki (Kinzan kiln)-信楽金山窯への旅

今日は英語は一休み。

信楽焼ーShigaraki

 

信楽一日旅行へ行って来ました。

I went on a day trip to Shigaraki.

　　　　　　　　　　

信楽へは年に１、２度行くのですが、今回の目的

は初体験の金山窯への見学へ。

I visit Shigaraki once or twice a year, but this time,

the purpose was to experience "the Kinzangama"

for the first time.

                     

途中で取り出された今年の作品たちです。

These are the pieces from this year, taken out in

the middle of  the process.

                     

陶芸の森では室町時代に使われていた金山再現窯

を用いた信楽焼の作品づくりが行われいます。

今年で５年目になるそうです。

At Togei no Mori, they have recreated the Kinzan

kiln from Muromachi Age to make Shigaraki pieces.

This is thier 5th year.

   

窯の中は常に１２００度台を保つために赤松の薪を

１時間に２～３回焼べていきます。

薪を焼べる度に温度はぐっと落ち、上から激しい炎と

煙が出ます。　焼べさせてもらったのですが、怖い位の

熱さです。

They throw in red pine woods a couple of times an hour to

keep the temperature in 1200℃s.

Everytime the woods are thrown in, the temperature

drops and from above of the kiln, the intense flame

burns up with smoke. They had let me throw in the

woods but the heat was very scary.

とても貴重な体験をさせていただいた今回の旅行

でしたが、それ以上に色々な人にお会いでき、その

お話を楽しませていただきました。

This was a trip that gave me a lot of precious

experience but what's more, I had met a lot of people

and enjoyed listening to their stories.

今回の中心者陶芸作家　澤清嗣氏です。

信楽焼の歴史にまつわるお話をいっぱいしていただきました。

He filled us up with the stories of Shigarakiyaki from the old days.

偶然にも昨年ご子息の作品を購入していました。

We had purchased his son Mr. Katsunori Sawa 's

陶芸の森で研修中のMax君とその作品たち。

イギリス出身で、ここ信楽に来て６ヶ月になるそうです。

This is Max from England and his pieces.

He's been living here at Shigaraki for 6 months now.

　　　　　　　　　　　

今回連れて行ってもらったYさんのお友達、

廣川みのりさんの作品をゲット。
